I love to write. Currently, I write short stories online for a website that published short stories for free and allows users, which are fellow authors, to comment with ideas or suggestions. This is very helpful and allows me to grow in my writing skills and make progress with each new story I write. These stories usually are romantic comedies or suspenseful stories. I also enjoy writing poetry. Most of my published material has been poetry. I have been published in various magazines, newspapers, and poetry anthologies. I submit many poems for online submissions, but have yet to get any published.
When I read the work of other authors, I enjoy reading poetry, short stories, and novels. My favorite genre is drama or realistic fiction. I also enjoy reading historical fiction such as time period pieces, particularly those of medieval and Renaissance nature.
This blog is exciting to me because it will allow my students to view my work and get creative ideas to use in their own pieces. I am excited to read my students writing and experiment with different types of writing styles to find one that I particularly enjoy writing or reading. I'm sure my students may be a bit anxious to start this unit and begin their blogs, but I for one am very excited!
